Change and the World

As I sit at my desk about to start the next episode of Pretty little liars, a show I have only just started watching, I start to look at my twitter feed and see so many thinks happening, my friends talking about relationships and the fun of being students, MPs telling their members what to think, government ministers who have forgotten how to think, doctors caught between their ethical duty and drive and being abused by a man who knows they will choose their patients over themselves, I see people fighting not only to end racism, gender inequality and their religion but staving off attacks from people that judge groups by the actions of a few. Atop all this scientist, politician, businessman and citizen clashing over how 'save' our planet and species.

I sit and I wonder, is this my generation?  am I a member of the generation whose legacy is mobile and armchair activism, a generation that spends more time debating the validity of the term Pansexual and how many genders there are rather than the problem of climate change and dwindling resources.

Well, this has to change, there are so many debates and issues and crises happen at once that each issue is being drowned out by other ones. In this world where people are shouting over who's a better singer or how slow service is at a shop or hospital, in a world that petitions have been invalidated you need to fight for your cause.

We as one world has to fight climate change, as one group we need to fight for the NHS and as one group gun control has to be fought for, whatever issue you think needs correcting whether that be student fees, doctors hours, gun control, police brutality poverty or human rights abuse fight for it do petitions, join pressure groups or form one. stand up and as a group tell your council, government or the world about it.
