Say goodbye to the NHS

Image
Many people have been warning about this for years and while many are in disbelief that a government would promote the selling off one the greatest institutions in this nation the truth is that the last 6 governments have been slowly priming the NHS for privatisation. We all knew that the NHS has been deteriorating and now is in a dire state. A leading Doctor said that general practice is on the brink of collapse, hospitals have closed. and for those that remain have had beds removed and those are being filled by people who should be receiving social care from councils yet due to cuts on their budgets local authorities aren’t able to provide them. According to a NHS survey almost half of nurses are saying their wards are understaffed, and since Brexit nursing job applications from the EU have dropped 96% and since the cutting of the bursary for nursing student’s applications have dropped by 23%. This has and will impact on the service they can provide. My f...

General Election 2017, My take

Image
Coming up to polling day for 2017’s impromptu yet critical General election I thought I would voice my opinions. For the past 7 years this nation and the majority in it have faced increasing struggles in our daily lives with cuts in nearly every public sector an increasing cost of living and an apparent lack of care for those systems and institutions that not make this country great but secure that It remains so for the future. Theresa May and her party have asked us to “trust their record” and I truly find that both laughable and insulting, The Governments 7 year record is a testimony to them not caring for the poor, disabled, the NHS, the local councils and the education system. The NHS is in utter chaos, there is a massive under staffing and under funding crisis there are less beds there are more patients (due to the cuts on councils preventing the funding of social care) and fewer staff, meaning they now have to work more hours on less pay. Theresa May says that t...

Wonder Woman Review

Image
This review is a short non-spoilers review I was incredibly hyped for this film, after the divisive Batman V Superman and the fun yet rushed suicide squad a lot was riding on this film the fate of the DCEU was pretty much riding on the quality of this film and my god it did not disappoint . This film firstly did not cater to a specific gender like some thought there was no shoving of overly feminist tones they were tastefully handled and period appropriate, remember this was set in a time before women had the vote. likewise this film did not make wonder woman a sexual icon, paying dues to the obvious that she is very attractive yet not focusing on it  they focused on her power and personality, making her a symbol of strength and morality.  Criticisms of the DCEU films to date were based around the plot, character motivations, Character representation and how close to the source material they are. Let’s start with the story, unlike BVS there is a simple and con...
